‘Power shutoffs may be possible for parts of the Bay Area starting Thursday: Here’s what to be aware of.’:- Because of the potential for wildfires, PG&E is issuing a warning to consumers in five counties in the Bay Area that they may have their electricity completely shut off.

Within portions of Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma Counties, the utility company has stated that it is contemplating the implementation of Public Safety Power Shutoffs.

It is conceivable that the PSPS will first begin on Thursday, October 17th. A Red Flag Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for a significant portion of the Bay Area beginning on Thursday evening.

Continuing through Saturday evening. This warning was issued due to the dry and windy conditions that pose a risk of wildfires developing rapidly.

Following the issuance of a Red Flag Warning for a significant portion of the Bay Area by the National Weather Service, fire departments all throughout the region are getting ready to respond.

According to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), power shutoffs assist lower the risk of wildfires caused by electrified power lines.
